Compressors In Action (And How To Contain A Vocal) [Video]

Knowing what a compressor does is one thing. Seeing it work in action is another. Today I want to build off of what I explained earlier this week and show you some simple compression in an actual mix.

We are going to take those four simple settings we care about (threshold, ratio, attack/release, and gain) and use them to take an overly dynamic vocal performance and perfectly contain it and push it up front in the mix, all in a musical and natural way.
