Welcome To The REthink Series

Today I want to give you a heads up about a big and yet not-so-big change happening at The Recording Revolution. My current line of in-depth video tutorial “boot camp” products are getting new names. These successful training videos aren’t going anywhere or changing, just getting a makeover. Welcome to the REthink series.

New Names, Same Great Training

If you follow this blog then you know I see the audio world in a weird way. I try to do as much with as little as possible. I challenge myself by setting limitations. I like to see the potential in a small and simple studio setup. This is also how I approach teaching things like recording, editing, and mixing. This is where the new names come from. I ask people to rethink how they approach music production, but in a way that lines up with what I teach here on The Recording Revolution.

So let’s re-meet the gang shall we?

REthink Mixing (formerly Mixing Boot Camp) is still the ultimate online mixing training. Showing you step by step an approach to mixing music, REthink Mixing is a complete behind the scenes peak into mixing like a pro.

So Why The Rebrand?

So why go through all the trouble of rebranding these four products you ask? For the sake of unity and respect. You see, I have a (new) great friend out in L.A. named Ronan Chris Murphy. He’s a top notch audio engineer and producer and an even better guy. He runs the super helpful website Ronan’s Recording Show where he teaches people like you and me how to make better music in our studios.

As you may or may not know, he also runs an in-depth recording workshop out in California called the Home Recording Boot Camp. Earlier this fall, Ronan approached me about the similarity of his workshop names (Home Recording Boot Camp and Recording Boot Camp) with some of my product names (Mixing Boot Camp, Drums Boot Camp, etc). What we both wanted to avoid was potential confusion in the home recording education and training world.

Out of respect for Ronan and his work (and his humility) and for unity in our industry (we are both shooting for the same goal, to educate and empower musicians and engineers) I decided to take the time to rebrand my “boot camp” products. That is the reason why the REthink series has come to be. And if you don’t already, check out Ronan’s site. You’ll learn a lot.

No Changes To The Content

And in case any of you are still wondering, nothing has changed to the content in these video series. Yes, I’ve had to do some work to rebrand and redesign them, but if you’ve already purchased any of these products in their former life, you aren’t missing out on anything.

The only exception being, REthink Pro Tools (formerly Pro Tools Boot Camp) is now updated with brand new content for Pro Tools 10. If you’ve updated to version 10 of Pro Tools and already purchased this video series, contact me and I’ll get you a free update!
